States: "Seattle Art Museum/ Seattle Washington/ Ex Libris"; depicts a hand, holding a stylus, rising over a mountain range. Bookplate from competition announced by museum director, Richard E. Fuller, March 23, 1933. Local artist, Ren Wicks won the competition. He was attending Cornish College of the Arts when he won the Seattle Art Museum's library bookplate competition. He went on to be a well-known aviation illustrator for magazines in the 1940s through the 1960s.
