Description
An account of the resource

This collection consists of digitized and born-digital annual reports and other financial and strategic documentation issued by the Seattle Art Museum from the 1930s to the present. Although the museum officially began in 1933, some reports note a longer period of existence -- the 1932/33 report, for example, is subtitled "Twenty-seventh Year." Prior to becoming the Seattle Art Museum, two predecessor organizations existed: the Seattle Fine Arts Society (1905-1917) and then, after merging with the Washington Arts Association (1906-1917), the Art Institute of Seattle (1917-1932).
