Description

35mm color slide of two plates (Sèvres Porcelain Manufactory). The central well of each plate has a white ground painted with polychrome flowers and fruit; matching white reserves on the rim are painted with smaller bouquets. The pebbled décor on these plates is known as caillouté, or cobblestone. The number 40 is handwritten on the slide.
