Description
35mm color slide of a litron cup and saucer (Sèvres Porcelain Manufactory). Both objects have a white ground, adorned with bands of tooled gilding, multicolored bouquets, and a field of painted dots near the rim. The dolphin theme is prominent in both pieces: the cup has a dolphin handle, while the saucer contains gilded dolphins in its well. The gobelet litron (litron cup) has a distinctive, straight-sided, cylindrical shape, and was the most common form of teacup produced at the Sèvres factory. The number 55 is handwritten on the slide.
