Annotated Bibliography & Press Coverage

Documents Northwest: The PONCHO Series enjoyed a significant amount of press coverage from renowned journalists and art critics of the time including: Matthew Kangas, Regina Hackett, Deloris Tarzan Ament, David Berger and others.

The Seattle Art Museum's Bullitt Library holds a significant collection of newspapers clippings and press releases--artifacts that provide an interesting view to the history of art in the Pacific Northwest. Through these clippings, it became apparent that Documents Northwest did not happen in a vacuum. In addition to clippings directly about the Documents Northwest series, we are also sharing information on influential events, controversies and, the comings and goings of curators--events that were happening concurrently with the Documents Northwest exhibitions.

It is important to note that we are only providing access to a handful of digitized clippings. We encourage you to read through the annotated bibliography.
